Kids Kicking Cancer Founded By Rabbi G
Kids Kicking Cancer was founded by Rabbi/Professor Elimelech Goldberg to help parents and children. Rabbi G (as he is fondly called by his students) is a black belt in the martial arts and a father who unfortunately lost his first child to cancer in 1983.
By using his experience in martial arts and his insightful personal experience to assist children and families facing the everyday issues of cancer once the diagnosis determined.
Rabbi G’s Kids Kicking Cancer Program
Rabbi G created the Kids Kicking Cancer program after serving for 12 years as the Director of a New York based summer camp for children with cancer. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Wayne State University Medical School.
Being a compassionate, spiritual leader, Rabbi G clearly identifies with the parents. He understands what it takes to face that horrible day when a child is diagnosed with a serious disease. He is also keenly aware that kids confronted with serious adversities at a very young age will question their abilities. They will also be fearful of facing the many challenges along the way.
The Kids Kicking Cancer Program is the best example in the world of martial arts. The true heroes are the young students of the program.
The training teaches students to breathe through pain while focusing on the inner messages of strength and power. Thus, a trained martial artist has learned to breathe through pain and difficult situations. This is a successful program and teaches the child to deal with a variety of physical and emotional challenges.
